Verify your domain to simplify the onboarding of new users

As the owner or admin of your organization, you have the option of claiming domains (e.g. deepbox.swiss) for your organization. By proving that you are the owner of a domain via DNS entry, you can ensure that all new users with an email address of the corresponding domain (e.g. max.muster@deepcloud.swiss) are automatically added to your organization.

The verification of a domain offers you the following advantages:

  • By linking your organization to specific domains, the boxes become more accessible to new users of your organization.
  • With the claimed domains, people with email addresses in these domains can easily join your organization. During the account creation process, new users will see a notice that they will be automatically added to your organization. This also speeds up onboarding considerably.
  • By claiming domains, you can reduce the administrative effort involved in setting up new users.

Verify your domain using DNS:
Note:
You must be the owner or admin of your organization and the organisation must use the Large subscription.

  1. Go to DeepBox Admin > Organisation and create a new domain check
  2. Enter your domain and click on Save
    1. In this step, you can also select the groups that are automatically added to newly registered users.
  3. You will now see the TXT token for your DNS entry
  4. Go to your DNS host and find the settings page for adding a new entry.
  5. Select the option to add a new entry and insert the TXT token in the Value field (can be called Answer or Description).
  6. Your DNS record can contain the following fields:
    1. Entry type: Enter ‘TXT’
    2. Name/Host/Alias: Leave the default (@ or empty)
    3. Time to live (TTL): Enter ?86400?
  7. Save the entry
  8. Go back to DeepBox Admin > Organisation and click on “Check domain”.

Depending on your DNS host, it can take up to 1 hour for your domain to be verified and for the DNS changes to take effect.
