Two-factor authentication – 2FA

Two-factor authentication provides an additional layer of security for your DeepCloud account. When signing in, you will need a one-time security code from an authenticator app in addition to your password.

What you need

Install an authenticator app on your smartphone. Supported apps include:

• FreeOTP (Download for iPhone, Download for Android)
• Microsoft Authenticator (Download for iPhone, Download for Android)
• Google Authenticator. (Download for iPhone, Download for Android)

Set up two-factor authentication

1. Sign in to DeepCloud.
2. Open your User account in the top-right corner.
3. Select My profile.
4. Open the Security settings tab.
5. Next to Two-factor authentication, click Activate.
6. Open the authenticator app on your smartphone.
7. Use the app to scan the displayed QR code.
8. Enter a device name to help you identify the device later.
9. Follow the remaining instructions to complete the setup.

Once two-factor authentication has been successfully activated, its status will be displayed as Active in the security settings.

Sign in using two-factor authentication

The next time you sign in:

1. Enter your email address and password as usual.
2. Open your authenticator app.
3. Enter the security code displayed in the app.

The security code is only valid for a limited time. If it is not accepted, wait for a new code and try again.

If the setup does not work

Check the following:

• The date and time on your smartphone are set automatically.
• The authenticator app has permission to access your camera.
• The entire QR code is visible when you scan it.
• You are using the security code currently displayed in the app.

If you no longer have access to your smartphone or authenticator app, contact Support or the administrator responsible for your organisation.
